The Western Pennsylvania Patient Registry (WPPR) is a participant recruitment registry specifically designed for stroke survivors.
Managed as a multi-institutional effort out of the University of Pittsburgh, WPPR serves as a bridge between stroke survivors and scientists conducting cutting-edge research.
Because finding specific, eligible participants for studies is incredibly time-consuming, WPPR maintains a pre-screened national pool of stroke survivors to keep vital science moving forward.
Though WPPR primarily recruits stroke survivors from clinical centers throughout the Western Pennsylvania region, WPPR is a national resource. It allows qualified researchers from across the United States to utilize its database to power clinical trials, rehabilitation studies, and cognitive research aimed at understanding brain function and improving long-term quality of life for stroke survivors.
